The Raid Remake Is in Development Now

The Raid will finally be remade by Hollywood. Based on information from Deadlinethe remake will air on the streaming service Netflix. The people involved behind the scenes are well known for their dedication to what they do.

Yep, Patrick Huges, best known for helming The Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Expendables 3, will be sitting in the director’s chair. Meanwhile, Michael Bay—who directed 13 Hours and the Transformers franchise—will produce the remake.

Will Gareth Evans be involved? Well, yep, the Welsh director will join as executive producer. Evans previously directed the original films—The Raid 1 and The Raid 2. In the meantime, James Beaufort and Patrick Hughes will be responsible for the script.

“We’re incredibly excited about Patrick’s unique vision for this film. It’s a distinctly original take on the material, which promises to pay great respect to the original film while also bringing a fresh approach and perspective that will set its own course in the action genre,” said Michael Bay, quoted from Collider, Tuesday (1/12/2022).
